Fresh in Coachella

Hello Harvesters
I’ve been in the sunny state of California at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival, which after our very own Harvest festival has to be the 2nd best festival in the world (fact!)
Every April over 100,000 music lovers from all over the world descend on Indio in the Nevada desert. The weekend is all about soaking up the good vibes and sunshine, listening to good music and eating good food.
Musical highlights this year included MGMT, Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, Jay Z and Imogen Heap and despite the chaos caused by Icelandic ash, a number of our Brit acts also made it across the pond to fly the flag for us. They included the amazingly talented Thom Yorke, Muse, Gorrilaz, Florence and the Machine and The XX. Pure music to my ears!
Campers were treated to a mini farmers market where local producers served tasty fresh food which gave us the much needed energy boost for the long party weekend. Local food producers from the Coachella Valley area provided festival goers with healthy, organic fruit, veggies, freshly squeezed juices, organic coffee and baked pastries. The home made salsa and guacamole was a real winner!
All sold at bargain prices I was gutted I couldn’t sneak a few punnets of strawberries back home as they would have made the most delicious jam.
Once the market closed around lunchtime, food options were limited to the usual festival fast food stalls but at Coachella the standard was high and I wasn’t disappointed. Everything was delicious and in the basking heat of the sunshine, with the sound of Temper Trap performing, over sized slices of pizza went down a real treat!
